The Natural and Grain Free offerings from Nutrience are very good, but how good is the standard food in comparison?
From looking at the top 5 ingredients this is definitely a good food. Chicken Meal as the main ingredient ensures your cat is getting an excellent highly digestible animal protein source, which is a #1 requirement. Brown Rice is better than white rice, and Oatmeal is a decent grain. Peas are a decent inclusion and provide a further source of protein as well as fibre.
Where this food falls slightly short of the other Nutrience offerings is the inclusion of dried beet pulp which is a sugary filler, egg product as an inferior source of eggs than the whole eggs we see in their other foods. It also has brewers dried yeast which isn’t a quality ingredient.
Moving on from this we find a great range of fruits, vegetables, oils, and other sources of nutrients in the food, making it very well balanced. Salmon Oil is nice to see.
If you can afford Nutrience Natural or Nutrience Grain Free then do that, but otherwise the Original formula is still a very good choice. Recommended.
